Study Shows Bike Riding Doesn’t Harm Mens’ Sexual Or Urinary health

Jumping on a bicycle for some exercise outside the bedroom doesn’t harm a man’s sex life.

Although bike riding has many health benefits, there have been concerns that prolonged pressure in the groin area cause pain, numbness and erectile dysfunction in men.

However, a recent study reports that cycling is not harmful to mens’ sexual or urinary health.

Contrary to previous research suggesting cycling may cause it, erectile dysfunction was no worse for men who bike ride compared to men who don’t, according to the study published in the Journal of Urology.

Researchers surveyed nearly 4000 men: 63 per cent of them were high intensity cyclists who did not swim or run regularly, and 37 per cent were swimmers and runners who didn’t cycle on a regular basis. High intensity cycling was defined as bike riding for longer than two years, more than three times per week and a daily average of more than 25 miles.

Results show erectile dysfunction was not no worse for cyclists than runners or swimmers. In fact, sexual function scores were higher in men who cycled, compared to men who did not.

The researchers believe the cardiovascular benefits of exercise outweigh any theoretical deterrent to cycling.

The Sexercise Connection

When your sex life is at its best, it’s easier to enjoy the health benefits of Sexercise that come with regular workouts – in and out of the bedroom.

Sexual intercourse burns between 69 to 100 calories in a half hour. It is more fun than exercise outside the bedroom and sex can count as another workout option in a couple’s fitness plan for a healthy lifestyle.
